Download

The Download operation saves files from Google Drive to a folder on your computer. Google-native file types (Docs, Sheets, Slides) can optionally be exported to Microsoft Office formats.

How to Download Files

  1. Select files in the file table
  2. Click Download in the selection toolbar
  3. Configure the download options
  4. Click Start

Configuration

OptionDescription
Download locationClick Browse to select a destination folder. Available disk space is shown.
Maintain folder structureRecreates the Google Drive folder hierarchy in the destination. When off, all files go directly into the destination folder.
Export Google DocsExports Docs, Sheets, and Slides to their Office equivalents (docx, xlsx, pptx). When off, Google-native files are skipped.
Include subfoldersWhen folders are selected, includes all nested files.

Overwrite Strategy

Controls what happens when a file already exists at the destination:

Disk Space

The dialog shows estimated download size alongside available disk space. If the estimate (plus a 10% buffer) exceeds available space, you must free up space or choose a different destination before starting.

Notes

  • Download does not require elevated permissions beyond the initial sign-in access
  • File contents are fetched directly from Google Drive during the operation
  • Google-native files that are not exported are skipped with a "skipped" status in the results
